FIT DOG FRIDAY – Get Active this Weekend with your Dog at PAWLOOZA!
Paw-sitively one of the best ways to get active this weekend with your dog is to attend an event or festival like Pawlooza! If you live near enough, join the Talent Hounds Team and the estimated 25,000 animal lovers and 6,000 dogs and party to support International Homeless Animals’ Day and the two organizing charities —ARF Ontario and LEADS Employment Services !
Activities will be running all day including Dog Agility in the brand new area of the festival called “Pawgility”, Doggie Dock Diving, Trick Demonstrations by amazing trainer Melissa Millett and the Ulti-mutt Stunt Dogs from In Dogs We Trust, and a Lure course, as well as Fashion and Talent contests and our own “Make Us Smile” Casting Contest.
Don’t miss the dock diving competition and Drop by the FUN ZONE a super-cool, off-leash play area for dogs! For only $5, enter the FunZone, and let your dog splash and play in Pawlooza’s ultimate playground! – thanks to Bullwrinkles and Barnsdale Farms – there may even be some free treats !
TIPS for an Outdoor Festival with your Dog :
If it’s Hot! Take plenty of shade breaks! Don’t forget sunscreen for both of you! Just like us, your dog needs sunscreen especially on light colored or bare areas like top of snout, ears and tummy. (But make sure its pet friendly!)
Water, Water ,WATER! Drink it, play in it, cool off in it! Lots of water breaks.
Food and Trash Abound! Make sure to keep an eye out for healthy treats and avoid tempting trash.
Have FUN! Pawlooza will be a blast but dogs can get overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds, so be prepared to leave if your dog shows signs of stress, like excessive panting, cowering, barking, etc.
Take a Break! Visit the new Pawlooza Wellness Area for a break, relaxation and free tips from experts!
For a complete list of events and activities can be found at www.pawlooza.com
Many rescue groups will also bring adoptable puppies and dogs to the gathering, so make sure to check out Pawlooza if you’re looking to bring home a pet.
Look for our Hot Diggity Re-cap of the festivities next week, and upload your pics. See you there!

We have quite a few doggy festivals around here. Last year we went to all of them to check it out. This year we haven’t been to any. There is one in September we will probably go to though. It’s not nearly as big as yours.
