Wonderful Singer Jann Arden Inducted into Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame

Amazing Jann Arden Inducted into Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to my “online friend” and fellow dog-lover, musical genius Jann Arden. Jann is one of Canada’s favourite celebrities – funny, smart and talented.

I feel like I know Jann and her dog Midi as I follow them on Twitter and Instagram and we often seem to support the same things.

I certainly know Jann’s music as I have been a fan for years and used to work in the music business. I love this song (even though it is not a “dog song”).

Jann’s Bio from her website.

“Jann Arden is a Canadian born, singer, songwriter, broadcaster and author.  The much celebrated multi-platinum, award winning artist catapulted onto the Canadian music scene in 1993 with the release of her debut album “Time For Mercy” featuring the hit single, I Would Die For You.  A year later with “Living Under June”, she would have her career break out hit Insensitive that would solidify her position in the music world.

Arden has released 13 albums with 19 top ten singles.  Her recording, “Everything Almost” was released in 2014. With Grammy Award winning producer Bob Rock behind the console, the 11-track disc is considered to be amongst Jann’s finest work – progressive, yet retaining the magic that is distinctly Jann.  In her career to date she has received 8 Juno Awards including Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year and in 1997 she hosted the Awards ceremony.  Arden is also the recipient of 10 SOCAN Awards, 4 Western Canadian Music Awards, a Much Music Video Award, 3 Prairie Music Awards and an Alberta Recording Industry Association Award. Jann is also the proud recipient of a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and has been given the Vantage Women of Originality Award.  In 2012 she was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal and in 2013 was inducted into the Western Canadian Music Alliance Hall of Fame.”

Now Jann has been honoured for her achievements and longstanding career in the music industry at the annual Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards Gala Dinner. She joins 42 recipients through the past 28 years, including Rush, The Guess Who, David Foster,  Alanis Morissette, Colin James, Tom Cochrane, Colin James, Triumph and April Wine, to name a few.

If you love her songs like me, here are a few of her upcoming performances.

Jann Arden Tour dates

Random House of Canada has announced it will be releasing, “Feeding My Mother: Comfort and Laughter in the Kitchen as My Mom Lives with Memory Loss”, a new memoir by Jann Arden, for publication in November 2017.

As well as writing and performing, Jann is an advocate for rescue dogs and adores spending time with Midi. Who wouldn’t love that little face.

Congratulations Jann.
