Fit Dog Friday- Surfing Dogs?
I love to surf and it is certainly an incredible way to keep fit. But Surfing Dogs?
I had never really though about Dogs Surfing until I saw “2013 Loews Surf Dog Competition- Unleashed by Petco.” in the news.

Now in its eighth year, this popular canine competition is an extension of Loews Hotels & Resorts award-winning Loews Loves Pets program and has become a hugely successful fundraiser for non-profit organizations. For the second consecutive year, the event benefitted the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The ASPCA® is the first humane organization established and is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community outreach and animal health services. The winner this year was Tillman the English bulldog (we recently featured his talents on our Facebook page)
Looks like a lot of family fun and a great way to keep fit if you are lucky enough to live on the beach. That is of course if your dog likes swimming and surfing (please take adequate safety precautions before trying).
Has anyone else tried it or any other fun water sports or any great ideas on having fun and keeping fit with your family? P

LOVE LOVE LOVE to Swim (you can see my current swim video on my post today). I missed swimming in the ocean. I lived in HI last year so I am very familiar with surfing. PAWsome. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
I think it is cool that so many dogs can surf but I don’t think Chester and Gretel would like it much. Chester doesn’t like the water or standing on unstable surfaces.
