Small Acts Of Kindness Can Change The World

“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.”

—Bob Kerrey

Small Acts Of Kindness Can Change The World - meet 2 adorable therapy dogs who are making a difference

This week we are inspired by random acts of kindness. Small Acts and Small Dogs can have a big impact.

You’ll fall in love with these three small therapy dogs who love helping others and understand the value of everyday acts of kindness are our pals, Gizmo of Gimzo’s Frens, his girlfriend Zoe the Therapy Dog and Norbert.

They provide love and comfort to people in need with small gestures such as giving cuddles and kisses or taking an afternoon nap on a patient’s lap. They make the world a better place.

Check out this great quote from Gizmo’s post his Facebook Page:

“Happy Monday! Gizmo sez: Listen. If Plan A didn’t work, that’s ok. There are still 25 more letters in the alphabet. Never ever give up today!” -Gizmo

The mission of Gizmo’s Frens, Inc, is to raise awareness and funds for charities and awareness of great things happening in the community and beyond. How inspiring!

Therapy dog Gizmo (www.facebook.com/GizmosFrens) and his family are grateful to share his love at Eastern CT Health Network Hospitals, Manchester High School, Spectrum Care facilities, Manchester Dialysis Center, The Village at Buckland Court assisted living, Vernon Manor, Special Olympics Unified Sports, Camp Rotary and others. He also visits Hartford Public Library and we were lucky enough to go with him. He is the Official K-9 Unit of the Hartford Public Library Security Squad as well. He is now certfied in Emergency Response too.16176192_1857555541196362_1555949332_n

Gizmo shared this post and photo from Zoe’s page that encourages their friends to write and send birthday cards to Mr. Alex. Zoe makes weekly visits to the man and wanted to help make his 90th Birthday one to remember. We love this gesture and were really inspired to see these two pooches combining their online presence to help Mr. Alex.

Zoe giving Mr.Alex kisses - Random Acts Of KindnessAs an adopted rescue dog, Zoe may have had a rough beginning, but now in a “Furever” home, she’s enjoying the type of life every pet deserves. She’s also a “working dog”- volunteering at 5 different facilities and loving every minute of it.

Norbert poses with his t-shirt - Random Acts Of Kindness

Another small dog with a huge heart is Norbert.  This 3LB Therapy Dog spreads kindness in the world with each of his high-fives. He works as a registered therapy dog and his mission is to spread smiles across the globe. He also has his book series called “What Can Little Me Do”. Check out all three books HERE

Norbert’s purpose is simple, to make people smile. Check him out in the new January 27th Universal Pictures film, “A Dog’s Purpose” for which he is a brand ambassador.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

—Leo Buscaglia

I think it’s so important to do different random acts of kindness! Not only can it brighten up someones day, but it truly makes you feel good knowing you did something for someone else.

I fully agree, even small acts of kindness can mean the world to someone who really needs it. My Husky is also a therapy dog and I see the big impact she has on children and seniors!

Great post. I picked up some poop in somebody’s yard that wasn’t from my dog. Does that count ? 🙂

I love Gizmo’s quote. Honey and I would visit our 96 year old neighbor. She loved Honey because she reminded her of the Shih Tzu she had. But, recently, after her husband’s death, she does not know either one of us. I’m hoping her memory will return soon. Thanks for stopping by my site.

What a very inspiring post! It really takes so little to really make someone smile. It’s been a while since we went on a therapy visit. We need to go soon!
