Lucky Dog Happy Tails : Today we would like to thank volunteers, supporters and adopters and feature a Happy Tails video about two wonderful lucky dogs Cosmo and Goldie, and the Ugly Mutts Dog Rescue Organization and some of their Happy Tails.

Looking to adopt? Adorable Puppy Cherry below, a Pomeranian mix who loves to play,  is still waiting- maybe for you? For more adoptable pets from Ugly Mutts click HERE

Cosmo (below)  and Goldie  were both adopted from shelters by Annie. Watch this very moving celebration video of their stories submitted to our gallery  HERE

Pound Hounds Rule!

Ugly Mutts Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of adoptable dogs that are at risk of euthanasia in high kill shelters and pounds throughout Ontario and the Northern United States.  They also work with caring pet owners who are in need of help to rehome a beloved pet. They are an all-breed, foster based dog rescue where canine companions are loved and cared for as our own pets until they can be adopted into suitable, loving, permanent new homes with committed adopters.

Ugly Mutts Associates are trained in canine behaviour and general canine obedience. With their knowledge and experience they are able to offer insight and professional advice to both caring shelter staff when choosing dogs for rescue, and to families looking to adopt a new pet. They are able to rescue and successfully rehome approximately 250 dogs each year. See the video of Li’l Miss and others we fell in love with at the PawsWay Rescue Me Event who have been happily adopted HERE.   See the blog post HERE

Rescue dogs can be taught new tricks, can become loving gentle friends or family members, can save lives and can make a perfect addition to our lives!

We love Rescue Dog and Successful Adoption Stories and will be doing a future episode of the Talent Hounds Documentary on Happy Tails!  Send us Yours.

On Twitter and a Blog Hop I just saw this cool idea via Two Little Cavaliers and Keep The Tail Wagging/ @TheFurMum

A Chicago-based company called BumperPet has teamed up with The Dog Saving Network to put on a pet lotto to raise awareness of adoption animals, as well as to promote the value of positive reinforcement training. They are hosting a weekly draw on YouTube where a rescue dog spins the wheel to determine that week’s winning lottery numbers.  Each dog that help with choosing the lottery numbers was deemed “unadoptable” and thanks to The Dog Saving Network, who works with these types of “problem” dogs, has become a valuable and loving member of someone’s family.

Ugly Mutts sounds like an amazing rescue! Little Cherry is a super cutie – he will surely be adopted soon. And thanks for including some happy tails… showing rescue and shelter dogs happy in their furever homes is always a great reminder of why we support rescue. We get to see so many dogs go to shelters and rescues, but don’t often get to know what becomes of them.
