Amazing Lure Course Action Shots Will Make You Want To Try It!

We were invited to the Ottawa Pet Expo and compensated by our friends from Dog Lovers Days to film action shots of dogs having fun on their Lure Course. They wanted videos to help with their marketing efforts and I wanted some cool footage to inspire people to get out and get active with their dogs – win win – #sponsored.

Amazing action shots on Dog Lovers Days Lure Course will make you want to try it featuring German Shepherd #sponsoredMark, Aaron and I drove up and filmed with three cameras all day Saturday (we even rented extra lenses to get great slow motion shots). It was exhausting but we had an absolute blast, just like the lure course participants. The excitement was infectious and we didn’t want to miss any of the adorable dogs running the course, from Chihuahuas and Yorkies to Great Danes and German Shepherds.  We ended up with hours and hours of 4 K video which took weeks to edit.  I am so pleased with the results and just love watching this highlights video. Hope you do too and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel to see more great dog videos.

History

The Dog Lovers Days Lure Course was built to provide fun for the family dog. We first saw it when they started 4 years ago with 2 events and Bullwrinkles as an anchor sponsor. It’s now grown to about 35+ events each year across Canada and the US.

What do dogs like about the Dog Lovers Days Lure Course?

Dog Lovers Days was looking for activities that any dog breed big or small would enjoy, even without lots of training. They recognized that most dogs have prey drive and need exercise. They have found that when they move that little “mouse” or lure, the dogs start to chase it and all of a sudden they are running around the track having a ball and getting great exercise.  From what I have seen, the dogs usually can’t get enough and there are lots of repeat customers.

Kilo the Pug tried it once at a previous event and loved it. I can’t wait to take him again, especially indoors in winter. It’s very rewarding for dogs and dog owners and very entertaining for spectators too as you can see in the video.

Safety

The staff are very professional and dog safety is a big priority. The fencing and everything on the track is built to fall down if a dog slips and hits it, so they have avoided any serious injuries to date.

Photos

They have a professional photographer taking photos of dogs jumping on the last stretch of the course. They get amazing action shots of dogs flying through the air you can buy. We included some in the video thank you Tom (we envy your lens). You can see more of his work here.

Do you want to hire the DLD Lure Course for your Event?

Anyone wanting a DLD Lure Course at their event needs a nice flat area of 70′ by 40′ – it can be indoor or outdoor. It’s very turn key . They supply the track, the lure, the fencing, all the motors and all the pullies.  They just need hydro and they’re ready to rock.

You can contact them on their site HERE and follow them here on Facebook.

Bernie and Lizzie have not tried lure coursing. Watching your video is the first time I’ve seen this exciting activity. I don’t know if we have lure coursing in America. We have agility, but there’s so much training with that. This event looks like exhaustive fun for the whole family. We may need to visit our family who lives in Canada and try this out someday!

Ive never heard about lure courses. All you have to do is look at the happy faces of the various breeds and you can see how much fun it is for all dogs.

I have learned that getting down to a pet’s level really maximises impact for video and still doesn’t it. But until someone points it out to you, it may be something you don’t consider! This looks so much fun f9r an active dog. (Maybe I should to agility training with the cats!!!)

These photos and the video are awesome. This sounds like a great event for people and their active dogs. I’ve never been to anything like this, but it looks like it would be fun.

Wow, these guys were having a blast! I didn’t realize that lure courses has elements similar to agility on the course, I thought the dogs just ran in a straight line. I think my dogs might like this too. Your video is amazing, I love it! You really captured their excitement and abilities so well.

Thanks so much Cathy. Most lure courses don’t have the agility bits but my friends added it for extra fun. Dogs can avoid them and still have a ball, but most really enjoy the small jumps particularly.

This looks like so much fun! Fantastic job on the video highlights and pictures. You guys do amazing work. I will say I’m a little partial to the Bassett hound, but was sad to see no mastiffs there. Sulley and Junior would LOVE something like this! I’ll have to see if there’s an event here in Phoenix sometime.

I have never seen Lure Coursing before, but it sure looks like a lot of fun in the video. If I was hosting an event, I would definitely hire awesome photographers and videographers like you to capture all the fun. It would be an important part of a marketing strategy!

Thanks Beth. It is so much fun and I really hope I captured a little of that. That is such a compliment coming from you. You always have the best photos on your site. I’d love to work with you and Alice one day.
