At the heart of Blessfest is the goal of bringing about a better life for animals by raising public awareness of animal welfare. One of the ways we do that is by helping to promote ethical rescues and sanctuaries at our fun filled annual event which includes among other things a Blessing of Animals. All the animals blessed receive the Signature Blessfest halo.
At Blessfest 2013 which took place on September 14 at Fairy Lake Park, in Newmarket, people had the opportunity to meet potential four legged family members. Blessfest provides an opportunity for potential adopters to meet some of the available animals looking for a forever home. Last year Pomeranian and Small Breed Rescue found forever homes for all 4 of the little beauties they brought for a meet and greet at Blessfest.
This year we blessed 114 including 111 dogs, 1 donkey, 1 guinea pig and a rabbit. Two of those were who received their halos were beautiful Dobermans by the name of Johnny and Nika.
I just received the most heart warming message from the Doberman Rescue of Ontario and wanted to share it. There is no doubt Blessfest helped make the life of these two beautiful animals better and believe me when I tell you there is no greater satisfaction for us.
October 2, 2013
We would like to inform you about the adoption of both Nika and Johnny. We brought both our seniors Dobes with us to Blessfest to be blessed, in hopes that it would help them find a home. Older Dobes in the rescue tend to be over looked, this being the case with Johnny and Nika. The phone was not ringing for visits to meet with either of them.
When we were invited to your event we thought having these two blessed was worth a shot.
Since then the phone was ringing for meet and greets. Though neither of the families were at Blessfest, showing photos of how amazing both Johnny and Nika were on that day I think really helped to show how amazing they both are.
Thanks again for the great day!
