Gracie – A Puppy Mill Survivor

Three years ago, Gracie was rescued from a puppy mill where she lived in a rabbit cage.

Underweight and fearful, she shook in a corner for 3 weeks after being rescued.

It took about six months for her to come around as she had many hurdles to overcome. Puppy Mills breed dogs for profit with little regard for their health and welfare. She had no idea how to socialize or play with humans or other dogs. She had never enjoyed the feeling of rolling in grass in the sunshine.

When her fur brother Stuart had heart surgery, Gracie climbed into his bed and licked his face and eyes. She stayed in the bed with him until he recovered.

Gracie has turned out to be the most loving, sweet dog on the planet.

With love and understanding the reward of a rescue is one of the biggest gifts I have ever received.
