The Importance of Teamwork With Norbert & Lil Bub

In today’s Thankful Thursday post, we would like to celebrate the collaboration between two wonderful animals and families, and their efforts to make a difference.

Norbert, the little dog with a BIG heart, is preparing to release the third picture book in his series : NORBERT & LIL BUB: What Can Little WE Do. 

Norbert the dog and Lil Bub the cat are joining forces to teach young readers the importance of teamwork to make the world a better place.

Norbert’s motto is “You don’t need to be big to make a BIG difference in the world”.  This 3lb pooch is definitely proof of that!

He is a Pet Partners® Registered Therapy Dog, a registered Canine Good Citizen and an Intermountain Therapy Animals R.E.A.D.® Dog.

As a therapy dog, he has volunteered at a local nursing home and at a children’s hospital in the Boston, MA area. Norbert now makes therapy visits upon request and attends special events. Norbert is also the Children’s Melanoma Prevention Foundation SunAWARE National Mascot (I am very aware of Melanoma Prevention as I have lost several Australian friends to this disease).

Through his book series and volunteer work, Norbert aims to inspire children so that they can make a  difference in the world, just like he does. He  shows them that we all have unique gifts that can be used to serve the greater good. 

I am a big believer in empowering children (I was a founding member of a charitable organization Kids With A Cause in Canada with my own kids when they were small and I also support organizations like Free The Children and We Day). Helping others really helps children feel better about themselves, as well as helping make the world better.

Lil Bub is another animal using her star power and story to educate, inspire and fundraise for others.

She was discovered as the runt of a healthy feral litter in a tool shed in rural Indiana.  She was taken in as a rescue when it was clear that she would require special care.  Lil Bub has overcome great challenges to become a published author, a talk show host and a movie star. She has helped raise well over $300,000 for animals in need. 

On their own, there seems to be no limit to what they can do. But can a dog and cat work together to accomplish something even more remarkable?

In the story, NORBERT & LIL BUB: What Can We Do, Norbert meets Bub, a celestial cat with magical powers from another planet. The two different creatures have to overcome seemingly insurmountable differences to work together. By combining their superpowers, they will show readers that despite our differences, we can all work together to create something otherwise unattainable.

It is a beautiful story full of love about collaborating, magic and inspiration.
